Additional information

Welcome to Gold Coast Recovery Service, an accredited alcohol and other drug service operated by The Salvation Army, providing withdrawal management (detox), residential rehabilitation, non-residential rehabilitation, transitional housing, and community program. The Salvation Army acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the traditional custodians of these lands and waters, the Wangerriburra peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and give thanks for their wisdom and knowledge which has sustained their people since time immemorial.

The Salvation Army Australia acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we meet and work and pay our respect to Elders past, present, and future. We value people of all cultures, languages, capacities, sexual orientations, gender identities and/or expressions. We are committed to providing programs that are fully inclusive. We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of people of all ages, particularly children.

Harm reduction is the overarching framework of our services, with our primary purpose to prevent and reduce harm for both individuals and the wider community. For many of the people entering our services this will mean stopping all use, for some it will mean reducing. Although a number of our services (like withdrawal and residential rehabilitation) ask that you are abstinent while on program, the overall long-term aim is for you to choose. We will work with you toward a safe and fulfilling life. While addressing problematic substance use is key, we want people to have a sense of belonging to their families, friends and communities. Our core belief is that all people are worthy and deserving of love, respect and dignity. Other aspects of the program are designed to help build a fulfilling life. These include spiritual support/pastoral care, recreational activities, and health care. Family involvement and vocational education and training may additionally be supported during your stay.
