About Gallang Place 

Gallang Place Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation provide culturally safe trauma-informed counselling to First Nations people. All counsellors are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with a focus on person-centred healing and empowerment.

Programs

Counselling for adults – Brisbane, Brisbane North, Brisbane South and Redlands area. Culturally safe, therapeutic supports for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Live Long Live Strong – counselling for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people aged 10-17 years in the Brisbane and surrounding areas.

Intake, assessment and referral

Referrals are open and can be via:

  • Self referral
  • family, friends, community
  • GP and other health professionals
  • external health & community service
  • court services

The initial assessment will be conducted in person or over the phone.

Additional information

Outreach counselling is available within Brisbane, SEQ and Ipswich regions.

In addition to counselling, Gallang Place operates an RTO Gallang Education and Training which offers Cert IV in Mental Health and Diploma of Counselling delivered in person across Queensland and at the Cannon Hill office.

They also provide an Employee Assistance Program services to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
