About Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service Brisbane (ATSICHS)

ATSICHS Brisbane is one of the largest Indigenous community organisations in Queensland and proudly remain community controlled and managed. They provide primary health care through the provision of GP Services, dental, child, family & maternal health, diabetes treatment and education, ophthalmology, optometry, podiatry and dietary. They also have an aged care facility, family and child safety services, social and emotional wellbeing and a youth service.

Programs

Social health: this service offers a variety of services and programs including mental health advocacy, counselling for social and emotional wellbeing, mentoring and men’s and women’s groups (available at our other clinics).

School health checks: the clinic has an Aboriginal health worker and a community liaison officer. We are happy to come out to schools in our local area.

Chronic illness: the clinic has care coordinators who can support you and help you manage all your health needs.

Dental: the clinic provides onsite accessible and affordable dental care for ATSICHS Brisbane clients. Access to these services is dependent on completion of an annual 715 Health Check. The nearest dental clinic is located at Woolloongabba.

Child and family health: it offers health care and support for mothers, babies and young children as well as antenatal care, postnatal care, immunisations and full women’s health checks.

Intake, assessment and referral

The clinic is the first point of contact for individuals who have concerning health matters. Further assessment and referrals to other health care services can be made upon visit to the clinic.
