Programs
Counselling Services – Anglicare Southern Queensland provides face-to-face and online/telephone counselling support services across Brisbane North, Brisbane South, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast regions.
Counselling services include:
- AOD counselling including Drug Diversion Program and Recovery Pathways Program
- Family and Relationships and Children’s Counselling
- Specialised Domestic and Family Violence support
- Living Without Violence Program
Drug Diversion Program – This program provides assessment and education sessions to clients diverted by the courts or police for minor drug offences.
Each Drug Diversion session is a 1-hour assessment and education session. Clients are provided with relevant information to enable them to make informed decisions about their substance use and are provided with referral pathway options where applicable.
Recovery Pathways Program – We offer continuity of service for clients who have completed a Drug Diversion session with us, or for people who are over 18 years old and experiencing moderate-to-severe alcohol and other drug (AOD) challenges.
This service is designed to work collaboratively with clients to develop goals that support reducing the impact of substance use on their life, health, and wellbeing.
The Recovery Pathways service offers up to 12 one-hour counselling sessions with an experienced AOD counsellor in one of our offices, over the phone, or via video conferencing.
Intake, assessment and referral
Counselling Services – Self-referrals are welcome, along with referrals from friends, family members and other health professionals following consultation with the client.
Please contact Anglicare SQ Intake on 1300 114 397.
Drug Diversion Program – All referrals for Drug Diversion services are made by the arresting police officer or the court officer to the Diversion Coordination Service. The Diversion Coordination Service then makes a referral to us as the service provider.
Recovery Pathways Program
Self-Referral – You can phone 1300 114 397 during office hours to speak with one of our Intake and Assessment Officers. They will ask some questions to help determine which service best meets your needs and arrange your first appointment at a location most convenient to you.
Service Providers – We welcome referrals from schools, health practitioners and other service providers and endeavour to minimise duplication of information gathering wherever possible.
