This webinar will be hosted by Dr Angela Argent, SMART Recovery Australia National Program Manager. You’re invited to join us for a live Q&A with Dr Carlo DiClemente, the co-creator of the Stages of Change Model (a key component of SMART Recovery). Dr Carlo DiClemente will answer questions on the Stages of Change Model and SMART Recovery, focussing on how to enable sustained behaviour change, as well as looking at strengths based approaches to learning, sticking to and staying with change.

Dr Carlo DiClemente

Carlo C. DiClemente, PhD, ABPP, is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), and Director of the MDQuit tobacco resource center, the Center for Community Collaboration, and the Home Visitor Training Certificate Program at UMBC. He is codeveloper of the transtheoretical model of behaviour change and author of numerous scientific publications on motivation and behaviour change with a variety of health and addictive behaviours. His books include Addiction and Change, Second Edition; Substance Abuse Treatment and the Stages of Change, Second Edition; Group Treatment for Substance Abuse, Second Edition; and the self-help resource Changing for Good. Dr. DiClemente is a recipient of awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Addictive Behaviors Special Interest Group of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, the John P. McGovern Award from the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and many others.

Dr Angela Argent (PhD) is National Program Manager/ Research Lead at SMART Recovery, Australia, working in partnership with the SMART Australia Research Advisory Committee (RAC). She is also a member of the Research Ethics Consultation Committee (RECC) for the Community Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Research Network (CMHDARN) and a Health Education Officer at the Medically Supervised Injecting Centre (MSIC) in Sydney.
