This event is a two hour interactive Zoom session exploring good practice responses to sexual health issues in the context of alcohol and other drugs treatment and harm reduction.

The session features guest speakers:

  • Emily Buster – Senior Public Health Officer (Communicable Diseases Branch)
  • Robert Kemp – Principal Public Health Officer (Communicable Diseases Branch)
  • Simon Doyle-Adams – Nurse Unit Manager & Team Leader (Cairns Sexual Health Service)

And a panel session with:

  • Katelin Haynes – CEO (Hepatitis Qld)
  • Jaye Murray – Board Member (Queensland Injectors Voice for Advocacy and Action)
  • Nik Alexander – Senior Program Manager, Harm Reduction (QuIHN)
  • Simon Doyle-Adams – (Cairns Sexual Health Service)

The panel discussion will provide an opportunity for workers to ask questions examining key sexual health and AOD issues and how we can work together to support improved sexual health and wellbeing for people who use AOD in Queensland.

The session concludes with participant discussion and feedback facilitated by:

  • Jeff Buckley – Director (Insight: Centre for Alcohol and other Drug Training and Workforce Development)

The final session will help to inform future actions and resources needed to better support organisations and the AOD workforce to implement good practice approaches to sexual health and wellbeing in AOD treatment and harm reduction settings.

We look forward to seeing you there!
