Programs
Townsville Recovery Services has three operations of service delivery.
Withdrawal Management
The withdrawal management service is a 10-bed unit, which includes clinical support via nursing staff, a visiting doctor, and casework support. The primary focus is to ensure a safe withdrawal process in a supported setting. Participants are also provided an opportunity to explore broader underlying, psychosocial needs relative to their readiness of change. After withdrawal participants are supported in integrating back into community or in transitioning into longer term residential treatment.
Youth AOD
The Youth and Young Adults Recovery Outreach Service is an Assertive Community Outreach that provides a range of psychosocial interventions to 12-25 year olds using alcohol and other drugs. Interventions involve, community education, group work, and one on one support. An 8-bed residential treatment service is also available to young people aged 16-25 years.
Intake, assessment and referral
Clients can self-refer into the service and initial assessment to determine suitability can be conducted over the phone and in person, client’s choice. Referrals from GPs, specialists and other health or community services are also welcome.
