About Lives Lived Well

Lives Lived Well is a not-for-profit organisation passionate about supporting people to live their lives well. They offer evidence-based healthcare services across Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia, helping thousands of people each year with concerns related to alcohol and other drugs, mental health, veterans’ wellbeing, and gambling. All of their services are delivered professionally, and in confidence.

Programs

Shanty Creek is a residential community where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women, aged 18 years and over, can find solutions to their drug and alcohol problems. Up to 30 residents can live-in and stay at a time. Providing a safe and supportive environment, the expert team works with you to help reach your goals and reduce the harm of drugs or alcohol.

At Shanty Creek you will have the opportunity to learn about yourself, understand alcohol or drug misuse and develop new ways to face challenges in life.

Intake, assessment and referral

You don’t need a GP referral. You can self-refer through Lives Lived Well website. If you have limited access to the internet or would prefer to speak to the team to request a referral, please phone the Contact Team on 1300 727 957.

They also accept online provider referrals from other health professionals, health services, and community and government organisations. You’re also welcome to drop in to the Cairns office at 139 Sheridan St. The team will assess your needs and discuss a range of support options, including withdrawal support.
