Goondir Health Service is a community controlled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Service. The clinic provides holistic, primary health care and medical services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the region through primary health care, health promotion and education. Within the clinic, clients can access a GP, Aboriginal Health Practitioners and Workers, nurses and midwives, dentists and counsellors. A number of specialists also visit the clinic including paediatricians, psychologists, psychiatrist, chiropractors, podiatrists, dietitians and diabetic specialists.
Programs
Other than providng primary health care services, they also offer Social & Emotional Wellbeing services, including:
- Counselling
- Substance Misuse Worker: The Substance Misuse Worker addresses issues and challenges that are faced by clients with drug and alcohol issues and understands the importance of harm minimisation and advocacy for an often marginalised client groups
- Drugs, Alcohol & Smoking Support: A Goondir worker can address issues and challenges that are faced by Clients with drug, alcohol and smoking issues and understands the importance of harm minimisation, advocacy and support.
- Mental health services: brief intervention, counselling, crisis management etc.

Intake, assessment and referral
Self-referrals are welcome. The GPs at Goondir will be able to provide referrals to the allied and other clinical health services offered.
