About Gallang Place 

Gallang Place Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation Counselling Services provide culturally appropriate counselling to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. All counselors are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with a focus on Social and Emotional Wellbeing. Gallang Place provide counselling, and support with issues such as trans-generational trauma, family conflict and violence; managing anger and frustration; feelings of grief, loss and trauma; dealing with sexual, emotional or physical abuse; drug and alcohol problems; health, nutrition and wellbeing; home and school issues.

Programs

Counselling for adults – Brisbane, Brisbane North, Brisbane South and Redlands area. Culturally safe, therapeutic supports for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Live Long Live Strong – a suicide prevention program for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 8-21 years who live in Brisbane and surrounding areas.

Intake, assessment and referral

Open referral, anyone can make an appointment.

Additional information

Outreach counselling is available within Brisbane, SEQ and Ipswich regions.

In addition to counselling, Gallang provide training through RTO Gallang Education and Training which offers a number of nationally accredited training programs delivered around Queensland and interstate.

They also provide an Employee Assistance Program services to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees
