About Drug ARM – Roma

Drug ARM is a specialist not-for-profit, non-government organisation that supports people, families and communities to achieve positive transformation through awareness, rehabilitation and management. 

The Roma team offer alcohol and other drug treatment programs for people who want help to address issues related to their alcohol and other drug use. They also run community information sessions on alcohol and other drug use, as well as supporting families who are impacted by another person’s use.

Breakthrough for Families Qld

Breakthrough for Families Qld is an information, referral and support program for family members, significant others and loved ones of people who are experiencing alcohol or other drug issues. Their team provide non-judgemental and confidential support to individuals, families and communities. They help family members and significant others to understand alcohol and other drug use, and what they can do to help their loved one. They can also provide strategies to make changes to their own circumstances, implement healthy boundaries and build resilience. Their experienced team can help families and significant others navigate the health system, and connect them to specialist workers and other health services. They also provide regular community information sessions for families on alcohol and other drugs.

Breakthrough Our Way

Breakthrough Our Way is a free program developed by Queensland Aboriginal Islander Health Council in partnership with Apunipima for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families affected by another person’s alcohol or other drug use. Families and community members can attend the information sessions and families can access ongoing support.

Creating Options

Creating Options is a twelve week treatment program for people who want help to address issues related to their alcohol or other drug use. Their team of specialists provide non-judgemental and confidential support through weekly counselling sessions and case management. They can help in areas such as relapse prevention, coping strategies, relationship skills, anger management, emotional regulation, mental health, and other life skills support. Creating Options can also help to coordinate care by engaging with existing healthcare and social services providers, or connecting to new providers. Their holistic approach means they help with all of the issues that might be contributing to, and maintaining, alcohol and other drug use. They work with each person to identify their goals, and provide practical solutions to make progress towards them.

Day Program

The Day Program is a twelve week treatment program for people who want help to address issues related to their alcohol or other drug use. Their team of specialists provide non-judgemental and confidential support through group work and individual support. Their holistic approach means we help with all of the issues that might be contributing to, and maintaining, alcohol and other drug use. Group sessions can help with relapse prevention, detox management, coping strategies, relationship skills, anger management, healthy living and nutrition, mental health, employment readiness and other life skills support. Each person in the program is matched with a case manager who will work with them to identify their goals, and provide practical solutions to make progress towards them. Case managers can also help to coordinate care by engaging with existing healthcare and social services providers, or connecting to new providers.

Different programs have different approaches and areas of focus, so it’s important for them to engage you with the program that can achieve the best results for you. If you need support outside of what they can offer, they can refer or connect you to other services.
