Bayside Community Addiction and Mental Health Service is a multidisciplinary facility that provides community health programs and clinics for adults and children. They have medical, nursing, allied health and administration staff who work together to provide patients with the highest quality care.
The centre offers a number of services including:
- AOD services
- Child and youth mental health
- Mood services
- Older adult mental health services
- Psychosis services
Programs
We are a free service for anybody affected by alcohol or other drugs, including carers, friends and family. You do not need a referral. What you tell us is confidential.
We have Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers, youth support team and peer support workers available in some locations.
We can support you to manage, reduce or stop your alcohol or other drug use.
We offer:
• support and advice
• counselling sessions
• group programs
• help to withdraw from drugs relapse prevention
• strategies to stay safer if you are drinking alcohol or using other drugs
• the Opiate Treatment Program
• the Needle Syringe Program
When you contact the service, we will ask some questions and chat about your concerns to come up with a plan together.
Programs
Needle and Syringe Programs (NSPs): offers needle distribution or exchange, the NSP service is available from Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm, closed 12:30pm – 1:00pm.
Needle and syringe dispensing machine is available all hours, at a cost of $2 and Redland Health Service Centre and Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre, Gundu Pa.
Intake, assessment and referral
Anyone with a substance use issue or their family members and friends are eligible to access services for an assessment. Services provided are confidential and clients should contact the nearest service to discuss options available to them.

Outreach service is available in Wynnum and Stradbroke Island.
