ATSICHS Brisbane is one of the largest Indigenous community organisations in Queensland and proudly remain community controlled and managed. They provide primary health care through the provision of GP Services, dental, child, family & maternal health, diabetes treatment and education, ophthalmology, optometry, podiatry and dietary. They also have an aged care facility, family and child safety services, social and emotional wellbeing and a youth service.
Programs
- Social health: Psychologists, care coordinators, case managers, intake, counsellors.
- Deadly Choices: Aiming to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to make healthy choices for themselves and their families – to stop smoking, to eat good food and exercise daily. Deadly Choices also encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to access their local Community Controlled Health Service and complete an annual ‘Health Check’.
- Family Wellbeing Service: Their Family Wellbeing team can provide in-home support and counselling and connect you up with others that can help.
- Youth Justice Service: Their service works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families who have had contact with police, court or the youth justice system.
Intake, assessment and referral
Social Health: Needs a GP referral
Family Wellbeing Service: Open referral, anyone can call up and ask for a referral form. The clinic is the first point of contact for individuals who have concerning health matters. Further assessment and referrals to other health care services can be made upon visit to the clinic.
Additional information
Transport is available for eligible patients who meet the current transport policy. Have a yarn with reception when making an appointment.
