  • Gain control of difficult thoughts, feelings and beliefs that make you want to use substances.
  • Take charge of stress, depression, anxiety and other symptoms that make it difficult to control your need for substances.
  • Manage a lapse and prevent relapse.
  • Improve relationships with family and friends.
  • Develop communication and assertiveness skills.
  • Create social and community supports and reduce isolation.
  • Find fun, relaxing and creative things to do with your time.
  • Improve your health and wellbeing.
  • Build on your strengths and abilities and your confidence for the future.

Police or Court Drug Diversion (PCD).

A Drug Diversion session is usually one hour, and the aim is to provide information and educational materials about the short and long-term impacts of substance use to individuals who have been referred through the PCD Program, and is funded through QLD Government – Department of Health

AOD Counselling Services: Recovery Pathways

We offer continuity of service for clients who have completed a PCD session with us, or for people who are over 18 years old, experiencing moderate-to-severe alcohol and other drug (AOD) challenges. This service is designed to work with the client, to develop a plan around goals they want to work towards to reduce the impact of substance use on their life, health, and wellbeing.

The Recovery Pathways service offers up to 12 one-hour counselling sessions with an experienced AOD counsellor in one of our offices, over the phone and via video conferencing.

Intake, assessment and referral

Self-referrals, referrals from friends, family, GPs, members of the community and health services are all accepted for people who are 18 years or older. Referrals from court services are also accepted.

Initial assessments for the Recovery Pathways Program can be conducted over the phone, online via video conferencing, or in person at the client’s choice. Initial assessments for the Police/Court Diversion program can either be done online via video conferencing or in person.
