The Alcohol Other Drug Services (AODS) is a community focused service for anyone affected by alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, opiates, amphetamines, inhalants and prescription drugs. AODS is a part of the West Moreton Hospital and Health Services and more broadly Queensland Health. This comprehensive program provides a range of services which include:
- assessment
- treatment
- follow up
- information and referral
- community education
- prevention activities
- health promoting activities
Programs
• Back in Control Group- Thursday morning and afternoon
• CBD/DBT, budgeting groups available with referral from AOS
• Clinic from 0900 – 1500 on the 3rd Friday of every month for “Liver Check”, a Nurse Practitioner runs the clinic and is able to perform liver scans, blood testing and commence treatment for Hepatitis C if found.
Intake, assessment and referral
Open referral, anyone can make an appointment.
Additional information
Harm Reduction -(e.g. needle and syringe programs) Not available in AODS – refer to sexual health upstairs
Residential treatment -(e.g. rehabilitation) Not available in Ipswich – Referrals made for HADS and other services
Withdrawal Management -(e.g. detoxification) Only available for those clients deemed risk free for ambulatory treatment
