Reflective Practice Groups (RPGs) aim to promote reflection and critical thinking, provide support, foster team cohesion and help mitigate stress and compassion fatigue in healthcare workers. This talk will explore how RPG can support the interpersonal aspects of caring and explore complex clinical and practice issues in a supportive group environment.
Chris is a Clinical Nurse Consultant working in CL Psychiatry at Sunshine Coast University Hospital. He is a credentialed MH Nurse & a member of the ACMHN CL Special Interest Group. He is an experienced group facilitator and clinical supervisor with over 25 years experience & the author of a number of peer reviewed articles on Reflective Practice Groups for Nurses. He has also published other articles relating to support and supervision for nurses. In 2020 he won the inaugural QNMU Positive practice Environment Award for his work providing RP Groups to general nurses & midwives.
