About Grace Homestead
Grace Homestead is a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre, situated in the Lockyer Valley (South East Qld). Their program allows a mother to bring up to two children into the program, so that she can continue to care for her children, while receiving treatment.
Their program is staffed by psychologists, social workers, and other clinicians, who have experience working with people struggling with substance use. They also have a caring team of support workers, who make our residents feel at home.
Trauma Informed Care: The Grace team is trained to deliver a specialised trauma-informed response, implemented consistently, when working with individuals who have experienced trauma.
Group Therapy: Group therapy sessions are scheduled four days per week. The group therapy components include psychoeducation modules, Relapse Prevention, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Living Skills, and Parenting training.
Individual Therapy: Individual therapy is tailored for each resident. Treatments include evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT, schema therapy, mindfulness based therapies, and trauma specific intervention.
Developing Mastery in Skills: The skills and strategies taught within the group and individual sessions will be applied in day-to-day life at Grace Homestead. The residents will be supported to apply their strategies and develop mastery in coping with life’s pressures.
Transition to Independence: Grace Homestead will support their residents to explore vocational and study opportunities in the latter part of the program. Ongoing support will be available as necessary.
