DESCRIPTION:What is SMART Recovery? \nSMART Recovery is a strengths based\, mutual aid group program for anyone who wishes to take control of their problem behaviour (including addiction to alcohol and other drugs\, gambling\, food\, internet\, sex and others). SMART Recovery also helps with alleviating the associated distress\, such as depression\, anxiety and anger. \nSMART Recovery uses evidence-based tools and techniques\, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to help people achieve their goals. \nAbout the Training  \nThe SMART Recovery training is practical\, engaging and key for professional development. You will learn how to empower participants to self-manage their problem behaviour. \nThe training provides: \n\nan introduction to the SMART Recovery 4-Point Program\nan introduction to SMART Recovery Tools – how to apply them in a group setting\nan understanding of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)\, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Stages of Change (SOC) tools and techniques\nkey group facilitation skills\nopportunity for experiential learning\nbe coached on how to facilitate a meeting and how to manage difficult scenarios.\npractical ideas to help you start a SMART Recovery meeting and keep your participants motivated to change\nSMART Recovery Facilitator manual\nongoing support from the SMART Recovery trainers\, webinars and refresher trainings.\n\nPlease note: While training costs are one off\, organisations that go on to start running the SMART Recovery program as part of their service must obtain a program subscription. \nDid you know?
