Putting Together the Puzzle – Stigma Discrimination & Injecting Drug Use

June 19, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

Free

QuIHN’s lived experience facilitators provide a comprehensive deep dive into stigma & discrimination toward people who inject drugs. Using real life insights and interactive discussions, this workshop aims to improve health outcomes for people who use drugs within health & community settings. Learn where stigma comes from, explore our attitudes toward substance use and people who use substances, how stigma manifests, and how to challenge and reduce stigma.

Developed by Australian Injecting & Illicit Drug Users League (AIVL), Funded by QLD Mental Health Commission, Led by QLD Injectors Health Network (QuIHN) & QLD Injectors Voice for Advocacy & Action (QuIVAA). Facilitated by QuIHN & QuIVAA lived/living experience AOD peers.

Approx 4 hours duration (including breaks) Workshops are free!

The workshops are aimed at health & community workers – whether you work in administration, academia, management, front line services, project management, counselling, allied health – if you come in to contact with people who use drugs in your work, or want to learn more about providing high quality services to members of the drug using community, then these workshops are for you.
