Lives Lived Well: The New Virtual Drug: Screening for Problem Gambling in Drug, Alcohol and Mental Health Settings

Lives Lived Well is excited to announce our next round of online webinars ‘The New Virtual Drug: Screening for Problem Gambling in Drug, Alcohol and Mental Health Settings’ will be rolling out across Jan/Feb with our first two session for 2023 fast approaching.

The February session will be held on: Thursday 2nd February 1pm-3pm AEST. 

If you have completed this workshop in the past and would like a refresher this workshop has since been updated with the following:

  • Contributions and lived experience from our very own Lives Lived Well clients
  • Updated research across the neuroscience of both substance use and gambling, ‘Gambling as a virtual drug’ and the impacts gambling can have on AOD and mental health treatment outcomes
  • Updated research including impacts of COVID 19 to patterns of gambling, further resources and guidance in how to use the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI) as a screening tool for problem gambling behaviours among clients in the AOD and Mental Health sectors 
  • Specific brief intervention options and referral pathways available
